Chocolate Chess Pie

It’s been a rough weekend with Mikayl’s tooth infection and I am all about eating my feelings. So I made this chocolate chess pie that my neighbor would make for us every holiday season. She passed the recipe to me and told me to give it to my kids. So I’m sharing it here hoping you put it on your table for eid or when you need to eat to feelings. Also thank you for the love and prayer for my baby boy ♥️

  • 1 -9 inch pie crust, unbaked⁣

  • 3 Eggs⁣

  • ¼ cup Evaporated milk⁣

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla⁣

  • ½ cup Butter⁣

  • 1 ½ cup Sugar⁣

  • 4 tablespoons Cocoa ⁣

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.⁣

In a small bowl combine eggs, evaporated milk and vanilla and blend thoroughly with a whisk.⁣

In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat.⁣

Pour the sugar and cocoa into the melted butter and whisk together on low heat.⁣

Slowly, a little at a time, pour the egg mixture into the sugar mixture and whisk together until thoroughly blended. Remove from heat. ⁣

Pour into a 9 inch pie crust and place in the oven to bake for 45 -50 minutes. You'll know it is done when there is just a little jiggle left in the center of the pie. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving.⁣

Serve with whipped cream and ice cream. ⁣

Do you blind bake the crust first or do you pour the chocolate mixture over the raw pie dough before baking?
